Movement that supports health

Osteopathie Nicklaus is an osteopathic practice in Enschede. Osteopathy takes a whole-body approach, looking at how different parts and systems of the body work together. Together, we explore what your body needs to support movement and flow, create space for adaptation and recovery, and help it function as well as possible.

Holistische benadering

Osteopathie Nicklaus is now registered with the Dutch Register of Osteopathy (NRO). Depending on your supplementary health insurance, treatments may be partially reimbursed.

The body as a whole

Osteopathy takes a whole-body approach. Symptoms do not always occur in isolation: different structures and systems within the body can influence one another. This is why the assessment does not focus solely on the area where you experience symptoms, but also considers possible connections throughout the body.

An important part of this is allowing sufficient movement and flow within the body. When these are restricted, they can affect other areas and processes in the body. Treatment therefore aims to create the conditions that support the body’s ability to adapt, function and recover as well as possible.

What can you expect?

Personal attention

Every complaint and every body is different. That is why I take the time to listen to your story and explore what may be contributing to your symptoms. Treatment is tailored to your symptoms, overall health and individual needs

Looking at the whole picture

The body functions as an interconnected whole. Rather than focusing only on the area where you experience symptoms, I look at how different structures and systems may influence one another and where relevant connections may lie.

Time and attention

During the assessment and treatment, there is time to observe carefully and notice how your body responds. I work attentively and adapt my techniques to what feels appropriate at that moment.

What can I help you with?

Because osteopathy looks at the body as one interconnected whole, the assessment takes the whole body into account. This means osteopathy may be used for a wide range of complaints. Rather than focusing only on where you experience symptoms, I look at which factors may be contributing to their onset, persistence or recovery.

Musculoskeletal complaints

Back, neck and joint pain, stiffness, and other complaints related to movement or physical load.

Head and nervous system

Headaches, dizziness, and complaints in which the nervous system or the processing of sensory input may play a role.

Digestion and abdominal complaints

Complaints related to the abdomen and digestion, such as bloating, abdominal pain or changes in bowel movements.

Hormones and women’s health

Complaints related to hormonal changes and different stages of life, such as menstruation or the menopause.

Stress, tension and recovery

Physical complaints associated with prolonged stress or tension, fatigue, or difficulty recovering after physical or mental strain.

What happens during an appointment?

An appointment includes a consultation, a whole-body assessment and osteopathic treatment. Where appropriate, we also discuss advice and whether any follow-up may be helpful.

01 — Initial consultation

We discuss your symptoms, your general health and medical history, as well as any other information that may be relevant to your complaints.

02 — Whole-body assessment

I assess not only the area where you experience symptoms, but also the body as a whole and any possible connections that may be relevant.

03 — Osteopathic treatment

Based on the consultation and assessment, I treat using hands-on techniques. Throughout the treatment, I pay close attention to how your body and tissues respond and adapt the treatment accordingly.

04 — Follow-up and advice

After the treatment, we discuss my findings and, where appropriate, any advice or whether a follow-up appointment may be beneficial.

About me

Liane Nicklaus

My path to osteopathy was not a straight one. After years of working in IT, I decided to take a different direction. I was looking for work that felt closer to who I am and that brought together my interest in health, the human body and nature. That is how I found my way to osteopathy.

During my training, I became increasingly fascinated by how ingeniously the body works. I experience that same sense of wonder in nature — and it is precisely this combination of curiosity, diversity and working with people that makes osteopathy such a special profession for me.
